FIRE!!!I was running my steam wagon to day and the burner went mental. the flame was coming out the back of the fire box where the burner slot is and through the slots for the canopy (for TEs). After blowwing the flame out i tried it out side the fire box and it burnt how it should untill i put the scuttle on then it was insantly attracted to it. So in short how do i stop this
p.s burns really hurt

You may find that you have lubricating oil inside/ around the firebox or even fragments of solid fuel blocks left inside the firebox.
I once had a small inferno due to remnants of solid fuel catching fire inside the firebox when it all got hot.
It might be worth cleaning the inside if the firebox and under the boiler to be sure you are only igniting the fuel in the burner tray

Is it a meths burner?
If so, it may be too full and when you're picking it up and moving it around, the fuel may be leaking over the top, causing your fire.
If it's solid fuel, then I'd agree with the last post.
