First engine...

Here's a shot of my trusty TE-1A, my first engine, plus the log wagon. Poor thing's a bit dusty; sorry 'bout that. You can tell the maid's not been too efficient, either.

A classic start to any collection and a very nice looking engine. Clean the dust off and get it oiled and steamed. You know you'll have fun. The weekends nearly here.
Wallace

Nice one laknox

Just steam it, that'll get the dust out
SPOKESMAN

Aye - steam it!!

My first engine was a TE1A as well LN, albeit mine's a later type (2002!). Believe it or not I don't have a pic to hand
Chris

My first, and so far only, engine is a TE1a....but soon I will be doubling my collection as my ebay SR1a is in the post!

My ebay log trailer arrived last week, so I have one of those too now.

My wife is starting to get worried about me being on ebay now though!
SPOKESMAN

Excellent Chris!!

I wish I had weekends free. With 11 hour days, 5 days a week, evenings and weekends are when I have to live my life and get stuff done. Hobbies gotta give. Actually, this weekend I'm actually going to be playing a bit. Got a club show and the weather's great. Gonna be showin', pullin' and lyin'. Probably be 250-300 tractors, another 150-200 hit 'n miss engines and various other stuff. I'll get a few pics and post 'em.

Pics would be great - there must be a lot of space with that many tractors!

Actually, not nearly as much space as we'd like. The location is an historic house in downtown Glendale AZ. It is all that's left of the Sahuaro Ranch, which was started in the 1880's, IIRC. The main house, still stands, as does the original adobe (mud brick) house, the pump house, generator house and fruit packing barn. The main house originally had a Jacob's ladder to access the upper floor as there were still the occasional Indian raids and the wimmin-folk were kept upstairs "for protection". This is most probably true as the man of the house was a Bible-thumping tea-totaler so they weren't sitting around tipping a jug. There's about 15-20 acres, all told, and we take up a good portion of it. It belongs to the City now, and is on our National Register of Historic Homes, which means that they can't destroy it. They can =move= it, provided it's not destroyed or significantly altered or damaged. Really nice site and draws a great crowd. Unfortunately, the crowds are smaller since our Case 65 went down...
