First Post (better than last) Hi everyone, thanks for a great site, this is my first post and hopefully not my last. Did a bit of surfing over the past few days whilst my joining problems were sorted out (my fault). Found the site thanks to Wallace (Andrew), another Aussie. I'm lucky enough to own quite a few Mamods, the oldest being an SE2, boxed, (50's) which I picked up locally and one lonley Bowmans. Probably crossed swords with a few of you on Ebay in the process of building my collection.
Thanks to all those who contribute to the site especially the technical section.
Cheers

Hi Chris.
Welcome to the forum. It's great to have another member from Ozz. We are very proud of our growing international membership and you'll make many friends, who will gladly help with, and discuss any problems you have within the hobby.
You will find we are a very informal bunch who like a bit of humour as well as the expertise.
We hope you will enjoy it here and I look forward to chatting about the hobby with you soon.

Welcome Chris. I'ts a great forum, you'll enjoy it.
Post some pics of your collection mate.
If you want to (purely voluntary) we have a thread in the ebay forum, where you can let us know your ebay identity, and maybe avoid unecessary bidding against each other, bearing in mind if it's something a few want, it's every man for himself.
You can call me yosa or Phil.

Welcome Chris,
Another fellow Ozzie, that now makes 3 on the forum.
Which part of OZ are you from, I'm in Perth WA.
I see you also collect native orchids.
I also have a small collection of Western Australian terrestrial native orchids which I've slowly gathered from nurseries and from blocks of land about to be cleared for housing.
Have you ever managed to get any Australia engines yet?
I've so far got 1 Scorpion verticle engine another unknown but suspected Ozzie verticle.
All the rest of mine are English.
Look forward to seeing your collection.

Welcome to the Forums Chris, great to see you here.
Fair dinkum, you other blokes here are a crack up. More noise here than the dunny door banging in the wind.
Well I'm off like a brides nightie. Some chat here makes me feel like I have a few roos loose in the back paddock

First Post (better than last)Thanks for your welcome everyone. Geez I thought my Aussie venacular was bad but Wallace really takes the cake. Thought it was dying out in the ankle biter generation but I'm obviuosly not on my Pat Malone.
Will post images of my collection on the collections site when I have time. For tmuir, don't have any Aussie steam engines yet, far & few between, think I've only seen one on ebain three years, it was similar to your vertical (maybe it's the one you bought). Your PM isn't available, if you want to converse about Native Orchids please PM me direct to save boring everyone else.
Cheers

My PM should be available my private email address is hidden but you should be able to PM me odd.
I've also only seen one Scorpion engine on ebay, it was similar but not exactly same as my Scorpion, it was also missing chimney and cylinder. Got mine from a person that lives inland from Perth, chance stop at an antique shop, it wasn't in the shop but the guy helping there told me he had an old steam engine in his shed.
Rang me up a few weeks later said he was coming to Perth and brought it up with him for me to see. He delivered it to my door and I snapped it up for $150.
Powerhouse museum has a boxed one in their vaults got them to send me pictures.
Here is the link to the post with pictures of my engine and then a couple of pages in the pictures of Powerhouse Museums one.
