flat bases

thanks to phil i got another bowman today so i thought it would be nice to get a photo of my flat bases together...
mamods at the front rank and bowmans to the rear

Are the so-called "flat bases" very popular? I ask because I'm thinking about, something like this, might offer for my vertical engine.

The flat base engines are popular because of their age. The older engines from a particular era had flat bases.  So in essence, its the engine vintage that is popular and not just the flat base itself. Some sellers on ebay have tried to buy flat bases separately and mount on newer Mamod engines to make them look vintage but they are never as popular.

Good quality engineering helps a lot too. Bowman and early Mamods seem to have a good reputation. - not a problem for KMV
