Flieschmann Sausage Maker c 1950

Arrived today!  One small repair and Andrew's getting up steam on the Jensen right now. Thanks John Thumbs up!

Hmm, should of dusted it first
Nick

Very nice paint.

Glad to hear he's using the Jensen.
CCairns

That is a very nice accessory Richard, which I'm sure you and Andrew are well pleased with it.

Must put this on my lookout for list, as I've a rough Fleischmann engine which would be ideal to power one of these. What's the best way to find these on ebay as just entering Fleischmann in a worldwide all categories search produces some 4082 items this evening? Thats a lot of listings to go through. And how much should one pay for one of these items?
Nick

Chris, here ya go.

Thanks Nick, I had just found that by using a search for Fleischmann Steam.

Postage is very expensive, so I'll see how high the prices go on this item.
steamgranny

So many accessory arrivals, I can't keep up!
That appears in impeccable condition & looking forward to the first batch of sausage making
Nick

What is the large hole on the base, under the table for on these?

That is the Sausage return, the sausages are like a loop.

I am looking at that and am thinking that the decal is not a decal but a sticker.
I do not think I have seen many in such good cosmetic condition Richard, it is exceptionally nice.
Nick

The sausages don't travel through the hole in the base though.

Maybe they had something else in mind and it was going to used on another accessory.
Nick

I was thinking they could name the flat cap guy James, but the little figure isn't "girthy" enough.

The Jensen was broke down, so they're waiting for James to arrive and run it:

Nick

So, did it work??

This was a joint auction between John, Les and I .  The auction was titled "Flieschmann Engine with parts".  I think I paid $ 43.85.  Book value is $75 to $200.

Be aware that there are several versions of this accessory of different dates:

http://www.ca-si.net/fleischmann/F-Antriebsmodelle/236/236.html

I would recommend a search containing some or all of the following words.  Flieschmann, Accessory, Sausage Maker, #236.

The valuation is for my version.

PS:  We ran it on the Jensen tonight both as part of the Fairground and stand alone.  We had to throttle back the Jensen but it was absolutely flawless.

Video Tomorrow

Somewhat ironically, I've been a vegetarian for 29 years.

Love the piece, nevertheless.

Glad to hear it is running well and you are very happy with it.

Addictive little things aren't they.

Looking forwards to the video.
Les

Have you managed to narrow the date down on yours??
CCairns

Thanks for the link Richard. I have the one for the engines, but had been unable to find anything else on that website. Amazing to see how many different versions were made.
johnreid

Doll made them first and Fleischmann continued the model, from that web site it looks like Richards is from the early to mid 1960s. These workmen are a lot of fun to look at and operate and I do see the advice about running them slower, if my Grindstone Man goes too fast the arms get "dislocated"
Nick

I hope we can see the video of the sausage maker soon.
steamyjim

I realy like that
Les

If you want to see one working here is the link.

Looks great Les, but I want to see one powered by a Jensen.

You send me a Jensen worthy of the job and I will.
Nick

You already have two Jensens.

Maybe I'll send you my new 51.

johnreid

Nick

I'm looking forward to it!
kusuchi

Yes Les, that's exactly what it is.

Hope it made it intact from UK

The box seems to have a rattle
kusuchi

Perhaps we can video them both tonight.
Les

That could be the back plate loose where the batteries go, or it could be hammer moving when you shake it.

Did you get any AAA batteries as you will need two?

Hope so.

I can see this now and it is in remarkably good condition, in fact it looks brand new. Well done Richard. Thumbs up!
Minor1PJG

johnreid

I still cant get over how good a condition that one is.
Nick

I bet that's the original dust too.
