forestry workToday me and some mates did volunteering work for the forestry the valley in which middelsbrough sits is lined with hills, forests and walks which need regular maintenance so I have spent all day carting rubble and dirt around to improve a the trail.
we were only half a mile from the captain cook monument
and pretty close to Roseberry topping
next week Im going to be falling dead trees
Try and gets some pics tomorrow.

Off at yer ankle!
My pal`s a professional gardener.
Dropped his chainsaw, which bit in above his kneecap.
He was very upset....... Ruined his £3 Tesco jeans!

Great photos Pauly, I too really liked the second one...cool lighting effect.
Remember that Turtle Man video posted by John Reid last week...that gent took his teeth out with a chainsaw, so hang on tight!!

I was going to say that too, but then Pauly would never smile again
I used chainsaws for many years and have seen a few injuries, thankfully none happened to me. Now I am not physically able to chainsaw anymore, I have acres of fallen trees and a need for firewood, but cant do anything about it.

there arent my pics I was to busy working to take a stroll and snap me own so I got them from google images
I dont use a chainsaw I prefer an axe or hand saw the last time I cut down a tree was when I was camping I couldnt find any good sized sticks sticks on the steep slope and the saw I had was blunt so I climbbed right up to the top and ran all the way down and slammed onto it that snapped it and me and the tree went tumbling luckily I managed to grab a branch so I didnt fall all the way to the bottom like the tree
at least I didnt have to carry it down

was doing more forestry work clearing pathways up on the moors
When we were done I took some of the branches home and made this tree with tree house
and some wagon loads

What a clever way of recycling.
Tree house looks good.

I think he buried the dog under that pile of gravel

he has server bone problems and cant lift his back legs like a normal dog so there is no risk of that

He almost lost a leg but did gain a pair of shorts. So depending on what way you look at it, it wasn't all bad?

I am going for bronze and am hating every minute of it the guy from the forestry is a right jerk with no sense of humur and everytime you make a mistake he treats you like its your job when we are just volunteering
and he picks his nose and eats it but then we have to use the tools hes just showed us how to use

been doing more frostestry work today on the paths again but half way through it started raining hard then it started thunder and lightning and I mean hard every 5 minutes I had to use the tipper on the power barrow because it was full of water
when we where finished we where drenched I still enjoyed it though was driving the power barrow all day
when we got to the bottom of the hill about a 2 mile journey 1 of the teachers remembered he had left his camera equipment up there so had to go get it (it was still raining ) then it started hail stoning oh how we laughed (we dont like him very much)
and the guy who works for the forestry who was with us is also interested in all things steam and said he had heard of this forum and you think you know a person
