Found these 2 in the loft (any ideas what they are worth?)been having a spring clean and found these in the loft:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
are they collectable?, and if so, can anyone tell me what they're worth (roughly) if i can get a decent price for em, i may part with em (although i might have to resort to evilbay)
the boxes are a bit tatty (the plastic is damaged on the train box)
they are both from the early 80's i think (the train has only ever been used about twice)
what do you think ? any advice appreciated...

Very nice finds there mate.
The loco set is worth around the 200 mark, the roller around 50-60.
Welcome to the forum mate.

Hi
I like the blue oil can.
How much would you sell that for if you are selling?

No probs. Looks like the roller - an SR1a needs 1 hub cap too!

The oil cans are worth a lot - 30+ well worth hanging onto!

im sure the oil can came as part of either the train set or the roller, if thats the case, i'd like to keep the set together, if it was an individual item, i really dont have a clue about price

An essential bit of kit if you run the engines.

The oil can would not have "come with" either the roller or the railway but may have been bought with them.
£35 would be the minimum price for the oil can (sorry James!) - I was outbid on one last year at £56!!
I managed to buy one this year as part of a job lot from someone that thought it "came with" an engine.
Welcome to the forum. Don't sell them. Oil them up and steam them instead!!

The oil can doesn't belong with either of the engines. It may have been brought at the same time but isn't needed to be sold with the models.
If you sell. Do it as 3 lots. Most of us like the boxes. Poor condition is better than no box. I agree with Mike (Spokesman) about £60 for the roller £30 for the oil can and £200 for the train set.
Good pics and a careful listing also helps. We've all seen models not reach their real price because of poor pics and bad listing and also seen models fly just because of a few clever words and a nice set of pics.

The loco set is a beast!
worth a little over 200! It will go up in value! They already are! Either keep it and steam it or keep it as an investment

Nice things to find! I had to pay money for mine.
You keeping and steaming or selling them to fund something else.
Careful, if you steam them you will want more!
