Fremantle Bridge RestorationGood Evening all,
I thought maybe one or two of you folks would be interested in
a Bridge restoration I`ve undertaken recently.
It`s a 15 to 20 Ft "G scale" model of the Fremantle Railway Bridge
of Western Australia. The Bridge Model was built around 20 years
ago by a Master Modeller, there is no Nails, Screws, bolts or threaded
bar anywhere in the construction, She stands around 2 Ft 6In high
and around 15 Ins wide in the Framework, The whole lot is held
together with Wooden Nails or 1/8th dowels right thru` out.
Some Vandals wrecked a large span trying to get it over the Clubs
fence, the rest of It I`m intending to restore and use in the form of
3Ft and 4Ft bridges in my "G scale" Garden Layout in my Backyard.

If this link works there are two Photo`s for you if you wish, If not,

Hi John,
Being Ex PTA I've walked across the current Fremantle bridge and my parents have a lamp with th Jarrah turned post of it made from the original Fremantle rail bridge.
Most of here set up a photobucket account and upload our photos there to display on the forum as its an easy and free way to show photos.
I run G scale and O scale locos but only live steam ones.
I haven't set up my track yet and to get a fix just have to set up an oval in my carport.
Nice to have another fellow West Australian here and welcome to the forum.

Welcome John,
It seems our fastest growing contingent of members is coming from Australia (OZ)...good to hear our Tony Muir will have a fellow steamer from West Australia. I've been to Australia once and I realize you could both be from the same area, yet hundreds of miles apart...BIG place to say the least.
Be sure when you finish rebuilding that bridge that you incorporate a few Claymore mines should the vandals have another go at it
Again, welcome aboard, this is a fun group of folks.
cheers,
Rog

I think I've seen that model bridge before.
Is that the one from the club near the Tonkin Hwy bridge?
I think that is the WA branch of the Australian Model railway club. Correct me if I'm wrong.

BridgeEvening all,
Yes that is the bridge from the Amra Club Bassendean, I`ve been
told a Name of the original Builder but will check it out before publishing the same.
The Bridge has to be seen to be believed, The Workmanship is
second to none. Once I`ve checked the Name out I`ll Publish it
as I feel any "Kudo`s" are his.
Thanks "Johnreid" for correcting my Blunder, I`m pretty good at
that sort of thing.
Thanks for your kind words one and all.
regards,
John.
