Getting there...

Bloody hell! Getting ready for STIA is a bugger!! I'm cleaning my engines but can't make them look too good because I got so many to do

So far I've done:

Flatbase linshaft x2
1946 SE1
1948 SE2
1949 SE2

Taking ages!
James

Just steamed the D16, despite having a crack in the sight glass, and small leakage from there it does actually work.

The Wilesco Roller won't be in action tomorrow, as I dropped it and bent the axle
Lewis

all i have to clean is my sp6
James

Lucky sod!
Lewis

better get polishing then james
James

Aye, just taking a break.

I'm affraid they ain't up to SM quality, but if I spent all day on 1 it would be
Lewis

aye my sp6 i can only polish the boiler really the other bits like cylinder block/valve chest are hard to get round plus i cant take it to bits
James

Aye, I can't be arsed with the fiddley bits, just the boiler, cylinder and that
Lewis

i may try the crome sides on the sp6 see if they polish at all
James

Aye

Done:

D22
D16 (can't be arsed to do owt with it)
SP1
SE2a
MM2 (my first)
Wilesco roller
Steely

Well besides after about 10 minutes of steaming they are going to look dirty again. Mine aren't to SM or Mike standard either, but they look presentable.
James

Aye mine do.

If anyone has any engines with stained boilers or burnt boilers, take them, and I will clean them. The SP1 boiler was proper bad burnt, took like 30 mins brassoing and got nowhere. Put some of this stuff on it and came off in seconds!

And what exactly is this "stuff"?
James

Burnishing compound
Sandman

Guys. are you saying I've got shiny engines??

Never.

Roll on tomorrow. (I'm in Stoke now all ready for tomorrow.)

See you there.

PS I've brought plenty of spare Brasso.
James

SM!! Just as I started writing this, the song "Mr Sandman" came on windows media player Scary

Your engines are like mirrors dude!
TE1A_man

Like chameleons... in front of a mirror of coarse.
James

Just this minute finished the last of the cleaning
