Going To PPS Tomorrow

As title.

Just thought i would tell you
steamyjim

Hoping to test a Accucraft Edrig
Chris

Have fun.

I need to put an order in with him for some Mamod mods but need to check the old bank balance first.

When I was there a young lad was running his Roundhouse Bertie that he had just bought. Lovely bit of kit.

Does he actually let you just test locos though? I would have thought that would make them second hand.
steamyjim

Reading his site it says he does demonstrations.
steamyjim

i expect he has got a few samples he keeps to demonstate
Chris

Possibly.

Although he told the lad he had never ran a Bertie as running them makes them second hand.

But as you said he might keep a few samples. Anyway, let us know about your visit when you return.
steamyjim

I shall also be looking for secondhand Mamod locos
Chris

He had several second hand locos. Most were 45mm gauge so no good for me, sorry, I can't remember what you run on.
steamyjim

im 45mm

could get lucky then
Chris

If they are still there. I was there a month or so back.

Think he had some Janet / Jane locos second hand, but don't hold me to that. I would have remembered better if they were 32mm.

I was surprised how heavy a Janet is. Look really well made.
steamyjim

i think the side tanks are either solid or heavier gauge steel than on a mamod

The first time i met him was at a steam rally i must have been about 6. He was a general steam dealer then.

He obviously new i new about stuff nowing what all the Mamods were ect. Then he said so you going to buy anything. I said no i got no money but as i had learnt what a cheuqebook was not long before i said but my grandads got a cheqebook!

then the day after i walk in with my grandad he sort of stays behind at the back of the tent. Then Alan shouts very loudly WHERES THE GRANDAD WITH THE CHEQEBOOK and the whole tent goes quiet and starts laughing
