Gentlemen,

Having dug my SEL major out, I decided it was a simple enough job to sort it, to that end the boiler is now in pieces waiting me to turn up some bushes in the lathe, and I've repaired (re-soldered) the pipework.

As many of you seem to know, the brass should be painted gold, now I fancy painting the engine ports, pipework etc gold as original. Possibly even the boiler.

Does anybody know of a heat resistant gold paint suitable?

VHT makes heat resistant gold paint. I've used the black engine paint and its good and other people have used the brake calliper VHT paint which is even better and they do that in gold.

So visit your local car part shop and see if they have VHT gold Brake calliper paint.

If they don't have, it ask to see a VHT paint chart, some of the stockists only keep a limited range. I was suprised to find, at one place, that there was more than double the different paint colours available than were stocked.
