got my old car back

I bought it new in 1997, daily driver for 10 years then needed to forget it when the children were young and my hands were a bit too full. Now back on the road after 5 years sitting outdoors on the drive. The engine was seized so put it in gear and rocked the car back and forth and that freed it. Tyres had flat spots but they are fine now, just needed a new clutch and battery. Now on classic insurance

Nice Lotus, Miles.
Good to see it back on the road.
I wish I had my old Galaxie back, the only car I miss.

MrMamod

Busted Bricks

Very nice!

We used to have a Suzuki Wagon R+ similar to the Vauxhall. Both my wife and I really liked it, very practical little car.

Sadly I will have to sell my car next week. It's a Ford Puma. I've not owned it long but it is by far the most fun to drive car I have ever owned. It handles so well. We'll keep my wifes old Rav4 as that has a towbar on it.
MrDuck

This could transform into a "what do you drive" thread.
Hope it does.

Real cool car, I wish I was able to get in and out of one like that

The other day I saw a 1960 VW Beetle, black just like my first car, I really had fun it that car, sold it 5 years ago

That's 22 years old!?  Looks pretty much brand new. I'm not usually one for Mazdas, but yours is great.

And you left such a car untouched for 5 years out in the rain, snow, etc.
johnreid

mine, it is a 2000 which I bought new, has the wide 16" rims anti roll and anti sway bars, Koni shocks, handles like a car but can haul a light load

Always liked the 'Elise' from the day it was launched.

It's one of those cars that will never age. If it were a VW or other such make if would be a cult car.

My manager at work had one and had a very bad time with it, he sold it in the end a few thousand quid worse off, he had no end of Engine trouble, with it.

I think it's probably the best looking English car since the 'E type'

I have a 1:18 model of one

Cheers

I'm surprised by the engine trouble he had, the Rover K series engine is fairly simple and proven, and usually cheap to fix. Head gaskets?

I agree - the elise will never age. it was an instant classic, though I didnt realise that for some years.
