Griffin's TableI thought I would start with the origins of what got me into this hobby with my first offerings up on my table. Even managed to use my signature table cloth
You will probably notice lots of red and green, as it was the mobiles that first caught my eye. First up is a TE1 from around 65, it was an engine just like this one that where my first memories of a Mamod, and it was racing around the kitchen floor
A few years later 1976, I managed to gain this little MM2 as a present.
Here we have the LW1 Log trailer, introduced into the range in 69, this one is one of the earlier type as it is painted the same shade of green as the earlier engines.
Here we have the one that started the mobile era of for Mamod. This is a very early SR1, quite possibly from 61
This is the engine that many regard as the one that put Mamod on the map. A 63 flat canopy TE1.
Mamods earliest mobiles together.
Whole table shot
Hope you enjoy looking at them on your way around this great event. I will be back later with a few more offerings.
Thanks for taking the time to have a look around my table.

Very nice display of Jensens you have there Steven.
Your Mamod collection also looks to be in exceptionally good condition.

Pink box Jensens
Sometime in the 60's the change to pink brick embossed fireboxes was made. Here are the three engines I have with this style of firebox.
#55 from 07
#20 from 07
#20 from the mid 80's
A few close ups of the two #20's showing the differences, ie. cast Iron generator, and the square edged flywheel seen on the older engine.

Steven, until I saw these side by side, I didn't realize how the flywheel machining was different between earlier and current models. Beautiful pieces all.

Wow Griffin, they are stunning models.
When did you get the flat canopy TE1? I can't quite remember you buying it and what approx date would you give it?

Powering electrically heated engines
While I had the camera out, I thought I would show how I run the electric engines.
As all the engines still retain their US voltage, I use this 1000W stepdown transformer to convert from 230Volts UK voltage to 110Volts US voltage.
I can then further regulate the voltage by plugging this voltage regulator inbetween the transformer and the engine. This regulator is rated to 500W, so cannot be used on the modern 660W immersion rod heaters.

Beginning of August. I would have thought it must be a 63, especially with the gold lettering, and old style box graphic.

That's a nice comprehensive set of Jensens. I do prefer the older style cast flywheels on the 20 and 55. Not quite as mirror-bright with the plating and squared-off.
