Hello AllHello all, my names jake and im from irwin PA. I currently have 3 steam engines and before long hopefully will have more- i have a jensen 65, jensen 75, and a PM research mill engine.
i also am into metalcasting which would be valuable for engine crafting if i had any machines i know a few of ynz from youtube but i am very glad to find a community of similar-hobbied people.
Well, i was going to upload some engine photos but i see i dont have any on photobucket yet... i guess ill post some pictures of my blacksmith stuff for anyone interested.

Hi, and welcome from Australia.
I am in the process of building my workshop and one of my long term goals is to be able to cast aluminium and brass but that is a long way off yet.

Thanks all for the warm welcome and i do indeed think that i will like it here. ok, so here are my engines-
My jensen 65- sorry to any realist collectors, but i really had to repaint it- the paint on it was getting too bad to do anything with and it was looking very junky. i like my engines more for personal appeal, rather than antique value
and here is my brand new pm research mill engine, the board it is sitting is a very nice peice of chinese elm which will be the base. i need to find a suitable boiler for it, im thinking a jensen 25 maybe?
i dont have a picture of the 75 yet, ill have one of it later. i am currently looking into purchasing another of any make, i am currently still fuming from the 1 dollar outbid on a near mint condition jensen 45
oh, and someone asked about that blower- it was previously used for the cooling a very large air compressor, it blows a whole heck of a lot of air; so much that it will actually blow the coal out of my forge which is why that metal disk is over it.

I'm liking the PM research engine maybe a little paint? The Jensen looks good with a bit of personalisation.

PM research!!
I have been thinking of bidding on one of them!!
Is that the kit one?
How powerful is it and how big is it/the bore?
Cheers mate

That one was from the pre machined kit, it took about an hour to put together, mostly because i needed to clean up the parts because some had burrs and such. i got mine off of ebay for 120$ buyitnow price. the bore is alot smaller than i thought, id say about 1.3cm or so. as for power it is a brute from what i know- at 30psi it is difficult to stop with my bare hand. and yeah, i think that ill paint the flywheel but the only suitable paint i have is the two colors i used on the jensen and i want something a little different for that one.

Here is a link to the one i bought, but if you have your own machines then you can machine it yourself and get the 60 dollar castings as apposed to the machined kit.
