Hello forum members,

Hello
After visiting your forum as a guest for some two months, I have just become a member. My name is John and I live in south west County Durham, England.
My main interests are engineering history, model/toy steam and music.
I am now retired and need to embrace the digital age with computer and digital camera. With the help of this forum I am confident my limited skills will improve.

I have a small workshop, lathe, drilling machine and the usual hand
tools, which I use to renovate, bring back to life unloved engines,
at the moment a Stuart S50 to Tubal Caines modifications as in the
Model Engineer.
I have not yet restored a Mamod or Wilesco, but with the infectious
enthusiasm generated by members here rubbing off on me ,the time may soon come.

My collection is small, Mamod TE1, Roadster both bought new in
the 1970's.
Stuart Turner score, 10H, No8, S50, 500 boiler, all bought off Ebay.

Anyway, that's enough of me------I know my wallet will be depleted
and the collection expanded.

Thank you all for letting me become a member of this unique and
prestigious forum.

Compliments of the season to everyone.

       Regards,
       John.

You've come to the right place, as our membership is only too pleased to help in any way we can.

It's a great little hobby, and when you can enjoy it with guys and gals like these, it makes it all the better.
