Hello from GermanyHi folks,
I'm a steam friend since my childhood although I started collecting a couples of years ago. My favorites are Wilescos and Mamods. I can understand that people like or dislike the one or the other because of multiple reasons. My all time heroes are the D24el, powerful and safe and the SE3, powerful with a beautiful sound.
Within the mobiles the FE1 and SR1a won my heart.
Sometimes I've the time to build up engines from semi finished parts. My latest project is a steam loco with belt driven gear box in gauge IIm (scale 1:22,5, narrow gauge). The plans already exist in my brain...

Welcome hansdampf from Australia and I look forward to your posts.
Do you mainly collect modern engines or do you collect some of the early German engines as I love the early German engines but so far haven't managed to get myself a nice early German stationary although I do own to Bing locos.

Thanks for the warm welcome greetings.
I will fill my postings with pictures as soon as my digital is back from repair..
Photos with the mobile phone are a kind of impertinence
But to answer question concerning my collection: My oldest engines are from the fifties, both Wilescos, because the are quiet cheap to get via German ebay. I like to see my engines run, and for most Wilescos you can get spares from the factory. German mobiles I don't like, because the are not sturdy enough. I had an Wilesco traction engine and the Lucas loco- rubbish to crap- re-sold on ebay. Mamod mobiles are superior. Simple, sturdy and beautiful.

Again thanks a lot for the friendly greetings. To answer the question about my translation capability: No problem ENG -> GER and vice versa. If anybody has a problem, e.g. buying from a German dealer, I surely can help, just give me a PM.
