Hi and welcome to the forum! Would love to know more about your engine, any chance of a picture?
If in doubt how to post pictures, here's a great guide:

theres a pick of it... ontop of the kinda blue green sphere the top moves up and down for an on off switch had a brass reservoir
near the tin silo thing theres a peice of metel and a small picture for a temp sensor... that tin silo is also teh heating element and that leads over to teh lil piston and steam valve/whistle ... it only has one speed... full tilt boogie becouse teh vavle is messed up i think
im allso gunna post a pic of this in teh general section becouse i know nothing about it other then i bought it for 4$ lol

Hi, welcome from another Indiana Steamer. I also lived in Orono, Maine for several years going to the Univ. of Maine so grew to love that state. My wife's folks have a cottage on an Island off of Port Clyde, Maine...not too far from Rockland. Great place to vacation.
Your engine is a Wilesco Atomic...something several makers put out during the height of the cold war, though a suspicious public did not buy into them well thinking somehow they were radioactive!
I also have a black powder cannon...check it out here: http://www.indianarog.com/brasscannon.htm. I have had it about a year and can't quite bring myself to fire it given it looks so good in it's virgin state, but maybe next summer!
Again, welcome aboard.

oh rog u gotta fire that puppy.... its about teh same size as mine... before i blew the end off it,dont mix shotgun powder and pyrodex... it makes a mind altering boom but they burn at diff speeds so it expands to fast
mines actualy a black powder splitting wedge... another antique that i picked up for a song
use pyrodex and about 9 drams of powder...fill it fulla tinfoil and set that puppy off.. should make a boom that will rock yer mind.... i love bp cannons lol but my son doesnt care for the loud mind altering boom they make.... be hes only 8.... plenty of time to fall in love with maken a big boom lol
