Hello from ScotlandHi folks, just like to introduce myself.
Stuart from Fife in Scotland. Only been in to the hobby for about 9 months. Got a few mamods and a couple of Wilescos, which to be honest I prefer. Have worked in the railway for about 25 years mostly on the driving side of things. 1 of only 2 Network Rail folk in Scotland with a certificate of competence in steam locomotive operation (Woo hoo - my claim to fame). Anyway look forward to learning a lot from you all Will get myself an avatar when I can figure out how to.

Hi, and welcome from Perth Western Australia.
I lived in Scotland for a few years a little wile back and my family originally came from Newborough in Fife.
Watch out after looking at all the photos of other people engine, you will find you probably want just one old German engine, and just one Jensen, maybe an OZ or NZ engine and before you know it you have a large number of engines.

Hello Stuart and welcome to the forum! I'm sure that you'll find us a friendly bunch, and your experience with steam locomotives is going to have lots of us very jealous!
(I used to work in Fife, at Donibristle, just by the new(ish) Dalgety Bay station. I stayed across the bridge in Edinburgh.)

Welcome from Washington, USA. Our weather here is similar to that of many parts of the UK so I am told. It is a bit grey, chilly and damp, but the bright side is that the steam plumes outdoors are just magnificent.
Be careful as steam is quite addictive. As one of my steam mates says 'Steam engines are a gas'. I have been hooked for some time and there seems to be no cure.
