Hello - I'm new !

Hello
card behind the virtual bar - my round !
been spending a few hours browsing lately - has rekindled my enthusiasm again - I have a very modest collection ( see attached ) but enough to while away a Sunday afternoon steaming and polishing. I was given the Burnac as a small boy - never did work much to my dismay ( much heating and spinning the flywheel to no avail ) until last year when I set to and got a new piston and did a bit of maintenance - it runs now, but the original burner doesn't really get it hot enough - if you put a blow torch on the side it goes like hell
Keeping my eye out for a few more ... would like a static Wilesco - we'll see. Out of interest I have seen a few comments on oils - I use Castrol A747 SAE 50 racing 2 stroke with castor on mine, works a treat

saw this tonight - made me smile - ie he's having a laugh !! - some people just don't have a clue ( sorry if it's someone on here - hope not ! ) £95 ..

Mister Occlusion

G'day.

Gee, membership seems to have gone up by a leap in the last 2 weeks. I feel like an old timer already and I've only been for...2 or 3 months?

Welcome welcome. Nice collection indeed.

Forum gets expensive only when you let the picture and video posts sway you into buying something like they've got
Manxman

Another welcome and yes, you're right, you are going to need to find more money and more space if you stay here. We all just seem to enjoy buying, running and showing each other our new models. Welcome to the home of toy steam.
Stilldrillin

SillyBilly

Welcome, try and keep you wallet closed!!!

Welcome from OZ.
Thats a decent collection but watch out if you hang around here long enough it will grow.
I love the Burnac, I collect Australian engines which are mainly Verticals and I think the Burnac would sit nicely with my OZ engines.

welcome

Station road steam is my all time fav website! They get really interesting stuff on there.
Spokey

I used to visit that all the time - a 3 or 4" steam engine would be nice - they have some gorgeous stuff on there - they have a nice little stationary on there for the price of a couple of mamods ... !

Tempting ...
