Help needed: Mamod burner for a wee MM1

H'llo, lads! How do I fix this, and what is missing on it? Got me MM1 today - fine little thing. I'd like to use this original burner. What must I put into its belly? Wool? I've no clue ... all your hints&tips are very much appreciated, lads!

It doesn't need anything in the tank part, except meths of course! The meths flows along the pipe and soaks up the wick. A rubber bung to go in the filler hole would be a good idea.

Try some MF 'Super Wick' maybe?

Yes, MF's wick is great stuff. Failing that, the kind of wick used in oil lamps is OK, or any piece of fabric loosely rolled up and cut to length will do. It'll gradually burn away but it's easy to replace.

I know that some use a strand from a Mop head.

Cotton wool works ok too if you have nothing else.

The burner originally had a rubber stopper.
