hi people a friend has asked me to repaint his SE1 base and just wondering what size nut and bolt i would need to resecure the engine frame as he does not want it riveted again

Just put one that fits in mate, if it's too long then use the bolt croppers

As long as the holes have not been enlarged by drilling out the rivets, then 6BA screws & nuts will fit.

If I order in the morning it usually arrives next day, and they're very flexible - I made a mistake a while ago (ordered the wrong size allen key), and they let me change the order even though it was already packed up - on a Sunday!

For standard size screws, I just go to the Hardware store

I went to my local "Poundland" (everything's £1

) and they were doing a pick and mix in the tool section 3 items for £1 and so I got three packs of nuts and bolts of all different sizes for £1. The equivilent stuff from a DIY place would have been £10 I'm sure. Worth checking out if you've got a similar store near you.
