Help With My MarklinI managed to get an hour in the workshop this afternoon ,so I thought I'd fire up the Marklin I bought at the STIA.
Once I had fixed a bad leak at the top sight glass holder, everything went fine, with all the rest of the machine being steam tight.
I used a meths burner I bought some time ago from Forest, and machine ran powerfully and smoothly.
I would have captured the run on a video, but my camcorder needed charging.
I'll post one hopefully tomorrow
The help I need is as follows. The sight glass has been replaced with a piece of stainless steel tube.
Where could I get a glass one to replace it as I don't like running it without being able to check the water level??
Pics below.

What is the OD in mm of the tubing you'd like?
I may have it in my stock of Pyrex tubing, and can cut pieces to length for you.
Certainly easy to mail such bits.

On german ebay there is one guy (works in a glass factory i assume) who offers a lot of glass tubes in different sizes.
Here is a link:

Very usefull!
You can email him the sizes you need and he will put it together for you!

Sandy, let me know the OD? I've got some bits of glass that are right for my Märklin (which is a lot later than yours).
