Hi from Gold Coast in Australia

Hi my name is Col, and I have recently got my SL1 back on the rails after 22 years. My Dad bought it for me on my 4th birthday (I remember the day well) and it has been sitting in its box for most of it existance.
After giving it a good look over and a bit of a tune up (pressure valve/forward reverse valve) I gave it a compressed air test and then steamed it up!
Ahhhhh, the smell of the bricks burning away, the sound of the whistle, the burnt fingers from the forward/revese lever. I almost forgot how sensitive it was. It either barely goes, or it hammers. haha
Now my 4 year old nephew who loves trains can enjoy it much as i did...and still do
Im so happy about the way it has retained its condition

Hey does anyone on here know where I can get a copy of the instruction manual and the catalogue that came with it? They are the only things that are missing.

I look forward to many interesting and valuable discussions

Hello Col.
Colonel_Sanders

Thanks for the welcome everyone!

I just got a wicks burner and a dream steam flux capacitor in the mail and took some footage of the rig reaching some warp speeds (unintentionaly). I think it may have gone faster than the speed of time because it reached 88mph then dissapeared and left some burning flames along the rails, but as soon as i can send the video from my mobile onto the computer i will post it up in the video section.

Is there anyone out there from 1945 who can go and look for my train? I think it derailed somewhere near the cobbler and the habidashery

All of that 88mph talk gets my interest going, do you have a Mr Fusion to fuel it?
Colonel_Sanders

hahaha lol! No, I havent tried steaming it with bananna peels yet.

That just powers the time circuits, the Delorean still runs on unleaded gasoline.    Good ole Back to the Future

Ya Glenn I'm here, welcome Col, your getting mixed up with a bunch of deviots here, (we're all into steam)
Don't get any orders for chicken do you?? you know, secret herbs and spices???
Just joking, your probably sick of kentucky jokes, but it had to happen, so now it's done, no more from me.
I'm just over the hill from you, Beaudesert, so we're almost neighbours, hope you enjoy this place as much as I do, there's lots to be learnt here.
