hi to all on the forumHelloo to the forum,
mj (mike) fortysomething child & my 12 yr old son Will, have been polishing & burning our fingers over the last few months!
W'eve been reading the forum for a few weeks, didn't think we knew enough about steam to join before!
W'ere still near the bottom of big learning curve.
So many questions to ask?
The first being how do i post pictures, as w'ere about to start a clean up on an old engine & advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, and a very warm welcome to both of you - you've comet o the right place.
For pictures, get an account with photobucket.com (free). Upload your pictures to there - they even helpfully give you the code for displaying images on forums like these.
Alternatively, you can link to pictures on any website really.

Hi Mike (You are the third Mike now)
Welcome to the forums, you never have to know a certain amount to join! it's open to EVERYONE no matter how much or little you know!
I suggest you go to www.photobucket.com and get a photo bucket account for free, then you upload pictures to that and use the [IMG] link it gives you to put pictures up.
I look forward to seeing your engine
Welcome once again, you will enjoy it here, Mamodman

Hi MJ
Welcome aboard
You will need to upload your photos
To a online website like photobucket or tinypic
I use this one
http://photobucket.com/
When you upload your pics
you can then copy and paste the IMG link
To your post, it will look like this
http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y294/chesterfield44/se3.jpg
And produce a pic like this
Hope this helps ...........

Thanks for the warm welcome.
It'll take us a day or 2 to sort out photbucket, i'm sure it won't be too difficult
I longed for a mamod as a lad, now it's a sceond childhood for me & plenty of practical skills practice for Will in the restoration game.
Plus there's also the web stuff, like avatars etc to master?

And to add my welcome to both of you. MJ and Son (sounds like a company). Better if we get son's name soon.
Hope you enjoy the forum. I got back into steam toys when my boys were a simular age. They've long since gone off onto girls and xbox, but I've stuck with the steam (safer, you know where you are and it's only your fingers that get burnt).

We don't mention the Grecians on here!
Know what you mean about the footy and rugger!, we can always squeeze you in for next game at Home Park!
I thought Plymouth was the new Capital!
