i have had small wire ones for some time and have made my own out of piano wire but they cut the hose rather badly, A spring band type would be very handy in such a small size

A cable tie pulled tight will do the job sometimes, but it's fairly permanent, you have to cut them off and will probably damage the tubing doing so.

I use plastic coated garden wire from Wilko. Twist it up with pliers until tight. Then snip off most of the twist.

Hi Reid,
You make it sound like gospel.
Just my experience, holds on mine to over 60psi. And v-e-r-y neat.
Be very careful with that rope,
Only use when there is no further hope.

I use(d) zip ties when testing my double boiler setup. That was with silicone tubing that was already a snug fit. I just did not want it blowing off and venting a full 3 inch boiler at 20psi across my front.

There's always hope, sometimes you just don't realise it.
