how many types

can anybody tell me how many different model variations mamod have made on there standard models
mc_mc

57?    Or is that Heniz?

Seriously if you look here this might give some idea:
http://www.toysteambible.org/Mamod/index.htm

But if you add in all variations of whistles, safety valve shapes, paint colours, burner designs etc. etc.    the list gets very long.

It goes on for ever, you need to be a little more specific. For example are you talking about the mobiles, the SE series stationary engines or the SP series stationary engines, plus accessories.  What about their railwaysystem? If you added in all the variations of paint colour, screws versus rivets, different kinds of burners, boxes & pistons, your probably looking at in the region of over 200.

As already said very hard to answer but for the mobiles, it's fair to say Mamod make 11 different standard models:
Steam Roller, Traction Engine, Steam Wagon, Showman's Engine,
Roadster, Limo, Fire Engine, Delivery Van, Bus, Post Office Van, Le Mans Racer.

Hope That helps.

I don't know why they are different.
Mamodman123

Too many small variations to list i'm afraid... some engines are unique

Hey Tmuir, why is the TWS1 with a question mark in your list?

It very much exists - I've just won one on E-bay.  I'll post some pictures and info when postie delivers
Manxman

? is because it's not listed in the Bible. But it is a TWS (tractor and Wagon Set). I've got a leaflet somewhere with one on it.

Thanks Wallace, it is a little    er     um       Different
Wallace

LOL

If I use the word "different" to describe it, I can say that is a safe comment
Minor1PJG

Ooh I see, that's right it's not in the Bible - odd really as they were made in the early '80s.

Can you scan the leaflet Manxman?

I'll post some pictures when mine arrives

That's a very polite way to describe it.

The bible has quite a few errors and is out dated now

But it's still argueably the best reference we have,

Jeez, what a great line Chris.

It would have been even better with some spooky B movie music in the background.
