You don't learn if you don't make mistakes
The 1946 one had a cast engine frame, so did the 47 and 48.

John, I agree with James, providing the whole assembly is original. As far a value is concerned I guess you have to have someone with a flat base 1949-53 without that assembly, although the brass flywheel could be worth up to $50.00 by itself, based on the fact that James got more than that for an old style whistle alone.

I don't think you can do that anymore James, besides you've got ass & class, when it comes to buying things, . I guess it also depends where you are, and who wants it.
