For all of you, with your holidays & days off, I can thoroughly recommend retirement........
BUT, you never have days off to look forward to, or weekends!
Happy Easter everyone!

Retirement was the best thing that ever happened to me.
Life is for enjoying mate.

But if we retired we'd have no money to support our addiction.

Yep, have to agree.
Hasn't stopped me from going all over the world, and following my hobbies etc.
Mind you I only have a one bedroom flat, but it's all paid for.
No debt and a damn good missus and manager. That's the secret.
Roll on this year, Canada then Spain then San Francisco then Madeira with a Caribbean cruise early next year.
Ain't life just sweet. All that and steam too.

The only "true" vacation I've taken was awhile back to Disney in Florida.
I do however go on a few fishing trips that are great! And you can go cheap too. I went to a lake last year a couple hundred miles from me and spent two nights sleeping in the public access. I "lived" there for 3 days. (Wal-mart parking lots make for cheap camping too. )

Many of you may think it strange but we don`t do holidays away.
They just have never worked for us.
Life`s one long holiday now, doing what we want to do
Work? That seems a lifetime ago.
46 long years in engineering, retired 2 yrs ago. Not yet a pensioner.
Life is good........

Doesn't matter how hard you try, you never run out of esbits.

But Nick eats Esbits, remember.

I keep getting esbit with my engines. I've never actually bought the stuff and probably wouldn't.

I sold a bunch, and still have some. I sold before I got my Fleischmann and didnt plan on using the Wilesco much. My little D5 is just as much fun as the D10 if not more.
|
Nick
|
The stuff brings good money on ebay too.
|
johnreid
|
If you have to buy some, Ebay is the cheapest place to get it too. THe big Fleischman eats it, the Baby Wilesco doesnt use much at all.
|
Nick
|
How many tablets at a time?
|
johnreid
|
I think the Fleischmann can take 5 and the Wilesco two, but after going through 5 there is lots of water left in the boiler of the Fleischmann. I think I could go through 15 and still have water in the boiler.
|
Nick
|
My D24 holds 3 or 3 1/2. It take 3 to heat the water up, I added 2 to get it running, so that makes 5 just to get it running. Then I added 3 more just to keep it running. It ate almost a half a box in no time and the water level looked the same as when I started.

My Fleischmann boiler is just a little bigger than that on my Jensens.
The Wilesco D10 took two and when burned out, it was near dry.
I do not know if it is the Blued boiler, or the material the boiler is made of, but the Fleischmann sure heats up quickly.
|
Nick
|
My Wilesco took forever to heat up. I think I'll boil water first next time.
