It it just me or is this just gorgeous ?
johnreid

The sad thing is, its a kit, I fear that if I had it, it woul dnot turn out so beautiful. Looks real nice doesnt it.
Cranko

Yes very nice Spokey, the expense is just beginning
Spokey

Yes, a kit - would like to see exactly how it comes - probably a few unrecognisable castings and some brass rods -I may email him to see if he can send a pic of what the kit consists of - damn you Ebay ...
James

Ooooh, I'm in love aswell!

I've been after a kit to build up, like a Stuart... maybe I'll buy this one! Same price as a Stuart S50!
Spokey

Here you go - this gives you an idea of what you get ... shopping list includes 1 lathe and 1 milling machine ... nice result though

Do you have access to any of that gear Spokey
Mister Occlusion

1 lathe, 1 milling machine, and a whole bunch of talent that can't be bought, in my case

I've looked at that engine before, including the machined version. I've written to some of the sellers before and never could get them to send me photos of what you get. It's bloody misleading showing only the finished product. Some lovely miniature tools out there too and unless you read carefully you';d think you were getting the finished deal (except the price is way too cheap so I go back and read through again more slowly..).

I'd like to do one up some day. But then you need to buy the plumbing, and a boiler, lubricator, valves....
johnreid

It looks to me that there are valves. Maybe an 8HP Compressor would run it LOL
Mister Occlusion

Well...generally... I mean, have you seen what they charge for globe valves, etc?

I need a better compressor. My little diaphragm unit just can't hack it, and is far too noisy anyway.

Ach, I'd rather use steam anyway. I'd be oiling the snot out of everything even more than I already do if I started using air
SillyBilly

I don't think I'd buy a lathe and milling machine just for that job.

Geez, you even have to mill the flywheel, they could of atleast given you a cast flywheel
mc_mc

If it was a furniture kit, it would probably come as a tree.
