IF.........if you could have brought any engine which was for sale today, which would it be? mine would have been the maxitrax burrell opposite tony greens stall. beautiful.

On forest Classics?
Had a close look at it... wasn't that good, and Phil agreed.
£2600, and it was quite roughly made
Made in China you see
Not very well milled and finished off!

Im afraid i have to agree with James.
Its not as good since Cheddar stopped. They used to have proper loco boilers from them

For me it would be one of Atticman's big german engines (in the tent).
Or perhaps Ian's MF Twin with the countershaft. (drool)
(The bowman locos were pretty good too.)
No actually I'll settle for the Abbey beam engine.

Any chance that those of us stateside and down under can get a peek at some photos from the show like the 2600 pound chinese traction engine or whatever that was, along with some of your displayed pieces and others worthy of mention.
Thanks in advance.

Didn't really come to buy today....in fact, thanks to Jimbo Ileft with more cash than I arrived with. Did buy a Mamod meths burner for the loco though, just to try it out.
Mind you, my table was right next to MF......felt my hand straying in the direction of my wallet once or twice.

I was not there, but if I had the money, I would love to have an engine like Mavericks.
I wonder how many Steam Toys will be made in China as time goes on. This could be the best or the worst thing for Steam Toys.
