A cute little loco to make you smile. I like that.
No gimmicks, just simple.

Yes me too - I think I like the two extremes - engines with all the whistles and bells, and the really simple ones!

alas the steam lines busted!
I'll post a pic of it though gladly. Since the steam line broke I took the spring belt off, but hopefully you can see how it worked
but how do you post pics? I've never figured it out! As soon as I know I'll post![/img]

so so, the gears at the front came out of mesh a few times, it wasn't a great hauler (surprisingly) but was good fun.

Neat rig, BT. "Fun with your Minor 2"! So it runs on rails?

yeah its on meccano railway wheels. It would derail if the track was anything but level though. LGB track.

i built one out of meccano for hornby rocket track.
you drove a wilesco tractor on put it in gear and there was a friction drive from the rear wheels to the railway wheels

how'd that go?
I have miles of that track, but nowhere to put it atm gardens a mess must get rocket out sometime
I did something similar with an SL1, made a cradle for it to ride in using friction drive, had it roaring across the back room floor on rocket track!
got any pics of the wilesco tractor loco?

not as built
aulthough i still have the frame for it...
anyone got any of the larger meccano railway wheels for sale?
i will be able to rebuild it then

it was quite fun to play with actually
to run it you dropped down to ramps on the back of the chassis. Then you drove the tractor onto it. Put it out of gear let it tick over for a while. As it was ticking over you locked it onto the chassis, basically a screw on the front that held it in place by friction. You re-engaged the gear set the engine going and away you go. When you finished you simply undid the screw droped the ramps and drove it off backawards.
If i remeber rightly i fitted a small dynamos to the chassi that was driven by the engine as it moved along and powered a head light
