And a list of modifications
1. total repaint in satin black and peugeot china blue
2. brass parts fly wheel cap, whistle and hub caps
3.new redesigned tender made from aluminium with real wood floor
4. bucket and boiler bandss from CJW
5. wood running board
6. altered the front wheels slightly and made new rims for the back
I am very pleased with the result and it is almost silent when running

Rob
great engine DLR. what did you use for the water pick up hose?
DLR
the water hose is a coil if wire wraped around a M3 bolt starting at the blank end and workingt toward the head
IndianaRog

DLR...that is gorgeous, gives mine a run for the money!!! Love the color, the scuttle area and brass touches.
Kevin Klein
That blue color is sharp, especialy with the brass touces.
Did you knock out the front spokes and reset them, and how did you get them out?
Good job!!!
DLR
you could probebly knock them out carefully but mine came out as a by-probuct of stripping the wheels with caustic soda

Stitch
Excellent work. The touches like the coal scuttle area really make it something special!
DLR

Oh that is very very good. What is it with these Wilesco and Mamod Mods at the moment. They just get better and better.
Atticman
That looks great, unusual for Wilescos to run quietly as well
Rob
i hope my mamod looks as good as this when she's finished. im still after a jensen 25/75 cylinder assembly if anyone has one...???
where is the shovel from?
would you be able to post some pics of the tender?
i noticed the back of it has a flange which is riveted to the sides, does this go all the way along the back? if you know what im on about?
DLR
The shovel is from a bachman g scale figure that cost about £3, the rivets are only on the sides and dont go along the back. As for the pictures, tell me what angles you want to see it from and you can have as many as you like
Rob
ah thanks, thats a real help. could you get some shots from this sort off angle and from the back? that would really help.
DLR
here you go then, hope they help.
Rob
thats great, thanks mate

DLR
thanks all. tried to do the vid today but couldn't get the belt to stay on apart from this bit
On reflection a spring belt is proberbly going to be better so i'll put proper pullys on the dynamo and fly wheel
Rob
nice one dan
Kevin Klein
Welcom to the conversion club, great job.
What did you use for the belt?
DLR
it was a piece of coton tape but it doesn't stay on very long
steamyjim
Runs brilliantly!
I love it!!!!!!!!
MTA
Nice one Dan.
I suspect the reason for the belt not staying on is that the Wilesco flywheel has a flat rim. Prototypes have the rim domed by a couple of thou or so, so it stays on
DLR
when it was first rebuilt i put a dome onto the fly wheel. Mabe i need to do it on the other end as well
DLR
Well done MTA!! I put an arc on the dynamo end put the belt on and it stayed i have had the engine running realy quick on air and it stayed perfectly on the pully and nearly blew the 4.5 volt bulb it was powering so tomorow will bring a new vid with the LEDs on
