Looks like I started a new trend with these "arrivals" threads.
How long before that big Fleischmann joins the subtractions and heads over to me?
Lewis

James
Aye Lewis, I'll PM you
James

Mamod SE4 -
Nick
I've seen better.
James
Aye, this one
Nick
If this is your additions thread, did you get another one?
James
Yeah! I bought it off MM for a piece of fluff and 64p!
johnreid
James, get some Semichrome. You will never regret it.
James
What's that mate?
Nick
Polish, both simichrome and maas work the best as far as I've seen.
IndianaRog
Brass/Chrome polish named "Simi-Chrome"...available on the net, sometimes on eBay. Fabulous stuff for brass. Comes in a squeeze tube like toothpaste, about $7 USD a tube and worth every penny. Another brand very much like it is called "Maas", Gil Garceau swears by it.
Nick
Here's a comparison, I think they are the same thing in a different tube.
James
So it's like Brasso?
Nick
| James wrote: | So it's like Brasso? |
No, it's a lot better than brasso. I have used all 3.
James
I might give it a go, but I'm faithful to Brasso
Nick
Brasso is cheaper, but it takes a lot more elbow grease.
If you can find maas or simichrome in a store, it is about £1.50 to £2.
A small tube of this paste goes a long ways.
James
Us girthy Lincolnshire folk don't mind using our girthy elbows
Nick
But while you're wasting your time polishing those engines for hours on end, us Maas and Simichrome users will be smiling into our mirror finish boilers and not have any worry of getting them dirty again.
James
LOL!!
johnreid
Simichrome is made in Germany so I am sure it is available in the UK, in the US Motorcycle stores sell it. It will make that bottle of Brasso gather dust.
