If any of you happen to know, what is the ballpark that he usually charges for them? I find that miniature steam engines have a huge price flux amongst them.

Email Phil using the address Chris linked above and he should tell you the current prices he charges. What i will say is that they are well worth the money and i'm very happy with all five of mine.

I paid £45 for mine - but that was in 1990 and bought as a kit At a guess, you could probably double that for a ready built one at today's prices. I might be wrong, though. Ask Phil.

Yes he makes them when one is ordered. I got one from Phil about 4 months ago my first engine I have bought in 2 years. Sold over 120 in the past two years. He does first class work and when or if I can afford it I hope to get a couple more from him. My Jenny Wren cost me around $150 US with shipping and worth every penny.

buy a new one from phil small engines like the jenny wren wear out fairly quickly probally only has only 30 /40 hours of run life ...which is a huge time for a jenny wren and other engines of that size ...some people never steam theirs so it will last forever!!!

Well I bought a Wilesco D2 a little while ago, and that thing is just a riot. When I first saw the Jenny Wren on good ole Youtube, I knew I had to have it.
Does Bix sell any burners that would work with it?

I very much doubt it! Have you seen how small the Jenny Wren firebox is? It's not called Jenny Wren for nothing.

What Roly said.
They are not much bigger than a box of matches.
I do not know what Phil's current prices are, but I do know that what he sold them for a year or 2 ago was very cheap.
I have also seem flywheels engine and the quality of the work is second to none.
Phils engines are worth every penny you pay for them, they are not mass produced cheap engine, but individually crafted engines.

I have run about 3/4 of a quart of denatured alcohol in mine and still runs like it is new. I have had it only about 4 months. Why do you say they wear out if you keep them oiled?

I talked to Philip the other day and he said he has run one on air for a week none stop. He did say the rod will eventually wear out but can be replaced.

I just got mine new Jenny Wren last week and it's a beauty. I've fired it at least 25 times so far. If you keep it lubricated the crank pin will last a very long time. I for one will never sell mine. You might as well contact Phil.
Cheers,
Bill
