Jensen #20 made June 2008Well I put in the order before I left on the 7th of June and talked to them while in Hawaii. A few weeks later and I get a call from Jensen last wednesday. A week later, its here. It sure doesn't need a whole lot of running in, smooth engine. I am really impressed, you just can't get the scope of how big they are from youtube or pictures. I took some anyway. No video yet, but it has been ran twice already.

Nice Trapper...you will definitely enjoy that engine, they may only be one cylinder, but smooth as a V-8!!

So nice.
It always makes me look twice on the newer ones as the holes in the firebox for the heater screws are empty, because of the immersion heaters.
I am so jealous.

I wasn't expecting it to rev so high, but it reallllly goes And such a great sound, it shook the whole desk as it ran. Steam shot from the exhaust pipe about 5 feet out
Can't wait for our guests to leave Then I will make the video

I have a Fleischmann that does that, I ran it on my Kitchen table that is about 100 pounds of Oak on carpet, and the table wanted to move! It is truly a blast to watch a Steam engine with that kind of power run.
Some day I hope to own a 20, but I fear it will be a long time from now. A brand new one too, you are so lucky.

Yeah, I like the fact that it was put together after I ordered it, and the immersion rod heater is just great. It heats up so fast, I had to unplug it quick in the first steaming, because there was a bit of adhesive from the tape across the boiler face I didn't want to melt on there. I made up for the cost by selling my old drumset for $300, and attempted to sell my extra SA1 and SR1a, but both are still here I need to work on my ebay skills

Sadly I think your timing was off as it seems like the more common items are not going as high. I bet that if you can wait till fall they will bring top dollar.

Dandy engine
I love those rod heaters. First one I've ever had is in the 95G and they're just crazy powerful. Heats faster than my kettle (and the kettle has a powerful heater in its own right).
With a full head of steam I have found there is nothing in my inventory of things-that-can-be-run-with-a-drive-band that will stall that engine.
Even ganging up several of those things.
Put a good load on it, slow it down, and just listen to the exhaust as it humidifies the house
I do not think that there is anything out there in the world of steam that can compete with the 20 in its price bracket. It's not cheap, but you get more than fair value for your money in terms of a heavy, well built little powerhouse of a machine.

Well done TK, you have a super engine there.
I know what you mean regarding the size and weight of the thing, I bet you had a shock when you first laid eye's on the engine .
Look forward to the video
