Jensen 25-Cast base!As I sink deeper and deeper into the water with steam boats- I sadly discover that stationary engines are just not my thing.
So the nice Jensen 25 that I purchased from Gil 60 days ago is up for sale at my original purchase price -$250
I have renewed the fiber washers cleaned the boiler and polished it up with 0000 steel wool - I have run it three times- she runs great F & R.
Defects-- a too bold a statement perhaps, are a small amount of paint loss at firebox opening- not paint rot- but it looks like it was scraped off.
It has ever so slight an "impression" on top of boiler near SV-just on the other side of the strap- dent is an overstatement.
The pictures are of a "undusted " machine sorry- the spots seen are just dust.
Original cord and plug and all asbestos sheets inside are in great shape.
Here is the paint scrape area
You might be able to see the slight hint of the impression to the right of the SV in this shot. SLIGHT..I just want to be clear
To be fair- this will be sold to the first respondent that wants to buy this engine and states so( this is a disclaimer due to the flurry when I bought it from Gil!) I don't wish to offend someone tuning in late -
I have just been buying tooooo many boats.. BTW - no original box
Thanks

Thanks Gil..... this was a great buy for me - Thanks for the opurtunity to own a great Jensen and one owned by the legendary RedRyder,....
It ( stationary engines in general) just ended up being not my style--
my marine habit has taken a firm hold on me..
it will be a great runner for someone else!!

you can get a 240v to 115v transformer fairly cheep Glen so go for it mate

Another option Glen, is to buy a replacement blanket heater from Jensen built to run on 220 volts...I believe they are about $40-50 USD direct from Jensen. You can easily swap out the old heater for a new proper voltage version, then add your own male plug to the cord end. Clinton recently bought such a heater to electrify a Jensen 75 effectively converting it to a Jensen 25.
New heater approach is usually cheaper than a transformer if you intend to buy only ONE such engine. Problem is most folks buy one electric, and then 2-3 more. If that is remotely possible it would be better to buy the transformer once and run 2 or 22 engines off the same transformer (separately of course).
cheers,
Roger

You cant have just one. I have four, going on five electric Jensens. Those 25s like this one are great engines.
