I know there`s allready some very nice videos on youtube showing steam-engines pulling gennys to power radios, but when i saw this Jensen (i do know theres no connection to the steam engine manufacturer i PA) transistor-radio on Ebay i just couldn`t resist buying it, eventhough the nice seller were a little surpriced to say the least that i were ready to pay postage (not that expensive actually...without the batteries and the transformer a plasticradio doesn`t weigh much) for his old transistor from the U.S. to Denmark
But now its here, and i`m hereby making an official attempt to launch the first movie ever made of an old Jensen powering an old Jensen to get to hear an old Dylan in his younger days...

Absolutely brilliant. Some thing totally different.

awesome video and a great song too
MrDuck
It can certainly be heard
IndianaRog
Jan, you have done a "first"
...Dylan from a Jensen powered by a Jensen driving a Psantama!!!
The Denying Dutchman
That is indeed different.

Another fun thing. I like it!
mrborinator
This setup certainly proves the feasibility of steam
Thanks for the vid.
Rob.
St. Paul steam
What fun...made me chuckle...

That was awesome.

I really enjoyed that. Historically, this was why Jensen was still allowed to make his engines during the War when all metal resources where otherwise channelled to army reserves. It was viewed that in the case of a massive power outage, his engines could be used for things like radios and a little poison gas detector.
Swift Fox
I enjoyed that, nice to see them all working together.
Glad you are having fun with the Blue Thunder.
Sandman
What a excellent idea.
I really enjoyed that.
Celsius 100
A novel idea.
psantama
Glad you are enjoying your generator. Just saw your video today.

Do not rev it up all the way and cut the lights on at full steam it will blow the LEDs. Ask me how I know. There is a person on the forum her that shows running a generator with a Jensen pushing a radio. Sorry you are not the first. I will see if I can find the video later right now I am going to cook some dinner.
Did you have your digital meter hooked up wrong as it was showing a negative voltage?
Very cool video I enjoyed it!
I have not seen MisterOcclusion around lately. He has several videos like this. He is all so a Jensen fan.

I do not consider it "wrong" that the test-wire shows that it is attached to negative, it is afterall a built-in feature in the meter with no impact on measurements whatsoever.
However what could be considered wrong, could be the fact that the red connector on the Blue Thunder genny is the negative, and the reason why my "correct" mounted meter shows what it does.
Perhaps i ought to switch the plastic-tops on the connections one day

Mark himself did in a post some time ago explain that he of personal reasons would be inactive here.
His movies and experiments however does still stand as very well made, and i personally take great pleasure in watching them

Great job, now you need a Jensen Car to include in a video, a friend of mine used to have a Jensen Interceptor, I doubt many survive though

You can ask Peter I blow a set of LEDs right after I received my blue thunder from tacking it up wide open with a #5 Jensen which it peg the meter on the BT and blow both LEDs. I called Peter we live in the same state and he sent me two more even thaw it was not his fault.
The reason I asked about the meter the stepper generators I made I was getting a negative voltage when the meter was hook up properly. Peters did not do this. I do think I know why and will be changing my generators. I was asking to try and help myself.
Thanks and once ago nice video that I enjoy watching.

No question, that was this week's highlight. IF there ever is a Forum poll or price anually for the best vid, that one will have my vote. This is by the way the only thing i have heard Dylan was any good at, being played on a radio driven by a steam engine. Thank you Jan, I think you have made the best Steam video I have seen in a loong time.
