Remember this from eBay? Well it is my Jensen 45 brass boiler.
It is not a complete restoration because it was in very good shape. All I had to do was to paint it and replace gauge glass and seals. Last but not least I found an AC cable that is appropriate for it.
I had to cut my own glass and using Rog's tips replaced the seals.
You all know the story of the Jensen 45... the Korean war and the lack of brass because of the war effort....
Well, this is how it looks now:
The white wire is a thermometer. In order not to be so hard on the new paint I run the engine with 80 VAC and temperature went up to 230 degrees centigrade.

Great restoration, that paint looks original.
I like the idea of measuring the temperature of the engine to protect the paint, with paint like that I can see why.
Its nice that it has a brass boiler, another 45 lives again.
Cool accent

In time that paint will harden, wise approach you are taking,

Rob you did a beautiful job on the 45...runs like a Swiss watch and looks like new.
Do NOT apologize for your accent...you come from San Salvador, I would wonder if you didn't have an accent. We can understand your words both spoken and written perfectly.
Again, great job on that restoration!

Not to worry.... I am laughing my head off.
It was fun to make that video. I am happy to share this with you as I've been looking around and I was not able to find too much info about this little engine.

Lovely little engine, can't be many of those left in steamable condition!

Rob, you have probably already seen this writeup on the Jensen website, museum section...but just in case you have not seen it:
Again, a really nice restoration and great running machine!

Very nice indeed. That is the first time I have seen such an engine in steam.
Great to see!

Hi Rob,
A first class restoration job and its nice to see a restored machine back and running not just as a static display and I loved the video
robertosala
Thank you guys!
Forgot to mention that the cylinder has got a little crack on it.
Fixed easily with Rog's tip for cracked cylinders. It sealed completely and no steam leak from the crack as you can see on the video.
In a few days, I will be receiveing parts from Igy569. Hope those parts will arrive soon and will enhance it.
I have noticed that brass boiler 45's have detachable power cords while steel boiler 45's have a permanent AC cord.
At least that is what I've seen on all pics of both variations.
The little engine will surely run a set of tools like a Jensen Workshop 100 or Wilesco tools or figures but it is not strong enough to drive a generator.
Part one of the video is here:
Brass boiler versions are quite hard to find for this little engines but it is even harder to find a steel boiler Jensen 45 in good working order, pristine condition or unfired.
