I forgot you needed that, this would be the perfect one for you, since he's already keeping boiler, firebox, and steam line.

That is exactly what Rob wants, a match made in heaven.

You guys are so nice- It is good to be around folks with good hearts.... Rob will get his project advanced ...
I am not sure there will be much left over...... except that the boiler , if indeed it is a 75,,, is 6" long... I really would like a smaller Jensen boiler..... Just to keep the running gear in proportion to the boat...
So if anyone wants to consider a horse trade on boilers- I will post what this one looks like when I get it...... I am also still looking for a ME 3 or SEL marine engine...
Ahhh, the merry dance of "button button, who has the button....?"

I hope you post pics when you get it, what is running down the boiler by the SV?

I do not know if this is what you want, but here is what I believe is a marine engine

Those Midwest ones go cheap too, I was thinking about buying one just to run as a stationary.

Nick,
I think it is discoloration in the nickel finish,,, acid or scale. Or it could be complete plating failure,, a melted plastic wrapper?? Hard to tell.
It is really a poor photo... Goofy me - I thought it was a different model - but parts is parts I guess...

If the plating is bad, just remove it and you'll have a brass boiler.

I bet that Jensen is just plain dirty, they seem to get that way for some reason. This is my 25 when I bought it in Ebay
but with some cleaning the boiler now looks like this
Most often the plating on Jensens is pretty thick and can be revived with elbow grease and polish..

I've got two 60's that almost look worse after polishing, covered with pitting (not really pitting, you just see specs of brass everywhere).

Love that pic John!

Wow- John - always the humble pie eater!! That looks really nice-I hoe I come out half that lucky! I am really wanting a Jensen boiler for this project because:
A- They look great and will afford me a site glass to check water level!
B- The steam supply line that can swivel around to where I need it- and hey... a Throttle control! Chuf Chuf....
Maybe I don't need it? But options IS good

What a transformation.

I think a bit larger Boiler might not hurt you, more water capacity means longer runs. I just might take some rethinking of how you handle the part of the boat above the water, maybe redesign the deck. Jensen boilers are a bit heavier than some others so that could be a big plus too. If I had a 60 I would trade.

Did you see this?

Yes, but I would want to run it, and it looks to nice for that, also I can't afford it.

Nick

I agree, stick with the 75 boiler for water capacity.
