Someone on this forum has built one, can't remember who but I do remember it turned out nice but they had to do extra work to make it run nicely.
If you want to build an engine and don't think you have the skill to make the parts this could be a good way to go.

will agree does seem bit expensive, but would love to build my own engine but dont have the tools or any experiance of making parts. are the any cheaper options of kit steam engines

Bloo built it and di a lot of extra work to make it look real nice. I also recall someone posting that there is a lot more work involved than just assembly so if you are not adequately equipped it might be a challenge.

That engine exists in two versions - the bolt together one you're looking at, and the same engine where you also have to do the soldering, folding and drilling. Obviously more of a challenge, but also a lot more fun if you ask me.

I dont have 1 but I have heard the cylinder tends to be to tight and usually requires redrilling

may give it a miss then didnt think would be to bad as description rekons easy to assemble and dont really want to waste my money incase i cannot complete it

as corey hasnt posted ill post and he can tell you more. he bought one for his young daughter for xmas father and daughter had real fun building it. i smile every time i see his daughter proudly showing and steaming it at the petrie steam shed on steamup day.her engine just sits there ticking over and then she opens it up .
