kit engine

have found this on ebay and wondering if they are are any good and if anyone else has one http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAP...egory=14737&_trksid=p3907.m29

Bloody expensive if you ask me....

Someone on this forum has built one, can't remember who but I do remember it turned out nice but they had to do extra work to make it run nicely.
If you want to build an engine and don't think you have the skill to make the parts this could be a good way to go.
willsy

will agree does seem bit expensive, but would love to build my own engine but dont have the tools or any experiance of making parts. are the any cheaper options of kit steam engines
johnreid

Bloo built it and di a lot of extra work to make it look real nice. I also recall someone posting that there is a lot more work involved than just assembly so if you are not adequately equipped it might be a challenge.
MooseMan

That engine exists in two versions - the bolt together one you're looking at, and the same engine where you also have to do the soldering, folding and drilling. Obviously more of a challenge, but also a lot more fun if you ask me.

Hi Willsy

Forest Classics do a kit for only £25. No idea how good it is, but might be good to start off on?
