Lady Jane on E Bay.

Another launch from the builder of Topaz.  He tells me the pictures are not the most recent and he has done more work on it since then.

That will be very nice when finished, are you going for it Richard??
Steve_S

Wow, she's come on a bit since I saw her. I thought Wal was going to keep this one?
mogogear

Nice, but Nope.....like Richard( I think) ...I am saving my money for A Seekadett

I wonder why he builds these and then sells them??? I can think of about 5 big builds in the last year for him....Switching hobbies... and just needing to finish up what he had in shop?
johnreid

He might enjoy the building more than the use and collecting. I know several people like that.
kusuchi

No, Les. And yes Mo, I'm saving for Der Seekadett.

Yes Steve, he was planning to keep that one, but decided to sell it to finance the purchase of a 5" gauge Brittania Loco, which has now fallen through.

Mo, John is right.  Wal is someone who enjoys the build much more than the final product.  We make a perfect combination.  He's one of the people I'm talking to about Der Seekadett.

Just need to find out how badly he wants to build it, and whether it will fit within my budget.

Remember , left overs on sources for me ...But I need to save for a while yet..

still have too many espresso machines laying about and such that I need to liquidate...

right after I finish the backyard re-configuration , installing the play structure for the little Mo, working on the Alexandra some more, installing new terraced flower beds in the front yard.........

Boy my job security at home is pretty high!! about as high as the list is long......

This is what I am really saving my pension for though...I met the owner of this boat last time out with my steam boat...a nice fellow...Boy would I love to have this...a 1930 power yacht..just what I need to cruise the Columbia river.....

Check it out- over 100 pictures...$119K....not bad...but a lot for sure!

Just remember Mo, the purchase is just the beginning of the expense, a hole in the water that you pour money into.
Bugsy

Mo, would this one do?

$37,736

I'll bring it over for you if you pay for the diesel.
Bugsy

Or this one?

Not bad for $19,200!
There are lots of fine old wooden boats over here, and the financial crisis has pushed prices way down.
It's definitely a buyer's market at the moment.
mogogear

Mr rReid spoke what i know.. .the hole inthe water ...at least this hole in in town!!

A big boat is just a fun "retirement" past time day dream...but I like 50' plus old boats with real staterooms!! diesel engines and  such
