LAPTOP HELP!!!My laptop has gone fumbar and I can only get this screen when I boot, up. Restart again and again and it does it!! It says somthing about CHK DSK/F and somthing else which i cannot remeber!
CAN ANYONE PLEASE HELP ON WHAT I CAN DO TO BRING MY LAPTOP BACK FROM THE DEAD?!?

Next time you boot it up keep tapping the F8 button.
This will allow you to start your machine in safe mode.
Once you do that, select system restore to an earlier date.
Hopefully that should fix it.

ive had this same problem a few times the 1st time a comp bof i know fixed it (f8 didnt work  ) and the other couple of times ive just reinstalled it

Looks like a hard disk problem.
Hit return, you should get a prompt . Type in CHKDSK /F and follow the instructions.

that was my idea as well, most likely a bad hard drive or corrupted OS. (didn't know i was a computer whiz, did ya!  )

Use F10 or F11 during start up and do a system recovery, hopefully a non-destructive recovery so your stuff is still there when you are done.

Looks like the dreaded BSOD (blue screen of death). I’ve never come back from one of those & full reinstall required with total loss of data.
But I've since learned my lesson & taking Cedge's advice, acquired an external drive, back up storage (although, still have to remember to actually back up!  )
Commiserations & hope someone can help with an OS...

Thanks to TE Driver I have a disk on the way, all i will have to do is re-install instant messenger and my wireless dongle thing to get the internet. There where no other files on it. All my pictures etc are saved on pen drives
