Latest Ebay purchase.

I am hoping to power this by steam when it arrives, it will make a great irony - steam model driven by steam engine!

Will post when it is converted!

Now that looks interesting.

Will keenly await the conversion .

Do you think you will be able to run an accessory off the flywheel?
rangerssteamtoys

Cool, and the irony is hilarious

Now there's a thought....

but I want to keep the rest of the model as original as possible (intend just to add a flywheel pulley for the conversion and leave all else as is)

I'll post when it is done, working on a "constructed" fairground, just got the Eitech Ferris wheel, I am going straight to a ssteam build so I do not get distracted by electrics and batteries.

Anyone have access to a scanned set of plans for the meccano swinging boats or other fairground items ?

I am sure i can find some plans here somewhere

Wow
Prompt and spot on!
Many thanks.

I am hoping that once the Eitec Ferris wheel is finished (a remarkably quick build despite it finishing up at 60cm [about 2ft2" in old money]) the swing boats will probably be next.

I am buying "miscelaneous" bags of meccano from Ebay so that the rides I build can be left intact rather than having to break them down to make another model, I hope to have a full fair eventually powered by my D22.

While the Wilesco models are good to look at, and I have a few, I think that actually assembling the model gives the collection a bit more of a personal input than just having a great arrangement (much as I do love those displays!).

Thanks again,
                       Don.

Best of luck with building the models Freeminer.

Look forward to seeing it

Very interested!

Do you have any details of the drive section above the swing boats please?  It isn't very obvious how that bit works from the picture!

Here is part 1 of the fairground layout, I intend to steam it with the "Meccano Steam Engine" model running both off the D22.

My only worry is that the 2" pulley Meccano pulley will still be too highly geared to easily drive the Ferris wheel.

Phil at Forest Classics laughed when I said this was going to be built come the Autumn, I only collected the kit on Monday. Tuesday night I thought that I would "just check it was all there and see how easy the build would be etc" and er one bolt lead to another and:

Better phots and picture of installed model tomorrow if succesful, nt sure how to do video, but may save that for the sound version when the music box arrives!

Cheers,

It didn't take you too long.
