Living for the weekend

as Hard-Fi would say. Not sure if you noticed but I wasn't on here since Friday as I have been busy at a model railway show. Run by a club I belong to, it was great. Bought too much (more on that later), sold some bits amounting to £70 ( ) and got to operate a non-members layout On the Saturday night, we had a meal and played Skittles at a pub/restaurant on Bognor Regis seafront. I somehow won the skittles Uploading some pics from my camera and will post them tomorrow or later on... Anyway, well and truly knackered now

I too went out and did things yesterday, and am exhausted today.
There again, it doesnt take much to wear me out.
It sounds like you had a lot of fun, thats great.

Saturday

2-10-0 tender engine on the HO gauge 'Koln Vorstellbar', which represents a branch line from Koln city centre.

The MPD on the 3mm scale sectional layout.

A little scenario on the 3mm layout, as a Scammell 3 wheel flatbed truck is loaded at the Goods Shed.

A train makes ready for departure on the 3mm layout.

Another shot of the 3mm layout, this time of the small two road shed at the steelworks end.

N gauge layout 'Barking Mad'. I like these types of layout, plenty of things going on and you can run anything on it

One of my favourite shots, the station building on the OO gauge Bembridge layout. Bembridge station was the most easterly station on the Isle of Wight before it was closed in 1953...

The coalyard and signal box on the OO gauge Buddleigh layout.

One of our club members had a demonstration stand. First he painted a backscene, then made scale trees from wire and hessian string for the rest of the weekend

This DCC layout is 0n30, and the majority of locos featured sound

A little scene on the tram and bus layout 'Ekasend'.

Terrier No. 8 'Freshwater' makes ready to depart from Bembridge with her 3 coach train. I had an hour operating this layout and enjoyed it very much (naturally, as I specialise in Southern Railways!)

An Adams G6 0-6-0T runs around its goods train on the O gauge layout Plymshot.

The Greyhound Inn on the OO gauge layout 'Hemlock', which is based on the old Hemyock branch line in Devon.

A Southern electric unit on the 3mm layout.

Another of my favourite shots, a Bulleid Q1 awaits the 'tip' before leaving the yard.

A railcar awaits its passengers on the HO layout 'Koln Vorstellbar'.

One of our members builds quirky layouts in 009, this one is built on a toilet seat

A member of the Terrier class is turned at Bembridge.

The trains on this layout were so difficult to photograph as they were so damn fast! A Virgin Voyager whizzes past on 'Barking Mad'.

Sunday

After winning the club skittles match on the Saturday night, it was time to start another day...

An 0-8-0T is captured during shunting duties on the HO gauge French layout 'Barsnac'.

A 14XX shunts its short passenger train into the carriage shed at Hemlock.

An 0-6-0T engine is captured on the West Sussex O gauge stand.

A 4mm scale diorama of vehicles built by a club member out of card, plastic and other materials most people throw away...

An Adams O2 Class is turned at Bembridge.

A shot of the lake on the 009 layout.

A tram makes a brief pause on Ekasend.

This layout is to N gauge and features two engines shuffling backwards and forwards powered by two shuttle units.

This layout is always popular with the kids. OO gauge, it features Thomas engines with loads of little plastic toys packed onto it!

Trees in progress...

This layout was part of a competiton to find the best name for it.

I am always amazed at these setups, but don't have the time or room for one.

I sure regret tearing my Layout apart, if I had only known what was to end up happening. I was trying to sell the house and the RealEstate Broker said it had to go before even trying to sell. I kept the house but lost the layout. My Layout was several scale miles long, all hand laid track. MAybe some day I will build a small one.
I enjoy seeing what others do and those sure look like nice layouts.
Nick

Well, according to the last picture, you can build a very small one.

I recognise Thomas' Junction!

I've seen that a few times when I've been exhibiting.

The On30 stuff definitely appeals!  As I type this a rake of Bachmann tippers is trundling past on my own American On30 line.

The Southern layout in 3mm is great, lovely to see this old scale still in favour.

Nice to see Bembridge, I've got the Railway Modeller article on that layout but I've never actually seen it in the flesh.  Nice to know its still around, it made a good magazine subject by all accounts!

Same here, I would like it too, but I think I'll start with it once I'm retired    (40 years to go   )
