I would assume it has a 8cm boiler and flywheel diameter and a cast iron base of about 10x10cm

You see the burner on the second pic under the engine?
That burner should be about 4cm in diameter, like all the other buners i have here...so the boiler should be twice as big...and so on
|
Spokey

you jammy beggar - £50 ! a veritable bargain - looks lovely, will look superb if it's polished up, or are you leaving it as it is ?
Very envious

Yes, there was also the crane version i think....
PS. please leave it as is, just oil it and clean it with a soft cloth....
Polishing will ruin (in this case) the 1920's look...
And I do not know if it the correct burner...maybe it is one of the other urners the seller has got? See PM

I like my engines to look work used- gives them character. I have seen the PM. Probally shant bother with those though Unless it stays proper cheap

I may be wrong, but I don't think that's a German engine....I think it's ca. 1920, Stevens Model Dockyard.
Whatever it is worth £50....and the rest!! VERY nice buy!

Aye you did There was like 6 layers of brown tape. I couldnt find my penknife so i used a file i had in my room Not very succesful
Aye Moose i was told that origionally but then people have been saying its Marklin. Aulthough a lot of the British companys (Stephens Model Dockyard, Basset Lowke etc) bought German engines and sold them as being made by themselves
