Loose Marklin No 5 flywheel - for BégéWhat is best solution for fixing this apparently friction-fit flywheel on old Marklin No 5, that has become loose on its axle?
Asking this for a Bégé, who is not equipped with tools to plug & re-bore axle hole. Simply a dab of Loctite, or similar?

SG...if it were mine Loctite would be my recommendation but only after disassembly and scrupulous cleaning of the shaft and hole in flywheel so the loctite has something to grab on to. Otherwise gaps in the hole are probably oily. Meths on a cotton bud is great for such cleanups. Just caution Bege if he uses loctite to be careful to NOT get it on the paint, it can ruin paint!!

Thanks for that Rog! Suspected it was the answer. Will pass on the thorough cleaning tips, & precautions concerning paint.
