Lost in the Post, and Found!

Hello all post strike victims.

Just to let you know you are not alone I thought I would post a few ebay items of mine.

First the one that is stil not here:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAP...7633&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT

18 days and counting

Now the one that arrived today:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAP...1980&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT

16 days from Germany.
Bugsy

The Oesterwitz Säge took 16 days for the trip.
I'll bet the missing saw turns up within the next few days.
I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

I just keep hoping that both sides will see sense and come up with a settlement.

Too much to ask I suppose.

That Oesterwitz Säge is so cool, I hope you take some photos of it. I like the saw too.

Last May a friend of mine in California sent me a music CD via Media Mail, I got it today, and there is no Postal Strike going on over here. Of course Media Mail is the least expensive option for postage and there is no guarantee as to how long it will take to get there.
MooseMan

Got my Bowman box today - phew!!
Burnmafingers

Yep, sure is frustrating waiting for stuff
Nice couple of accessories Dr.Rog.
Les

I have a feeling this is a German made sawbench and not Mecanno.

Wallace

They might have listed it like that in the hope it would raise the money of the recently ended Hornby meccano saw bench that sold at around 300 pound
Stilldrillin

Yesterday, I received a burner from Mamodparts. Just 2 days delivery time.
I also received some bearings from the "South Coast". 1 day delivery time.

2 test tubes coming some 50 miles, are still missing, after more than a week!
MooseMan

Bearings, burner, test tubes.....I wonder what you're working on David!

Three separate projects....... All of `em separate from the other projects...... Which are nothing to do with house, car, garden, workshop, greenhouse, & family projects......

It`s a busy life being retired!

One of these?

calypso

So that's where they get the Mamod chimneys from!!
TE1DRIVER

My Meccano set has arrived today
Dr. Rog

The not-meccano saw arrived today!

with a postmark stating 27th Oct- YESTERDAY

18 days thinking about posting it, two reminders and the "striking" posties deliver overnight. Amazing...

The postage was £1.62, the charge £3.50. Although the box was adequate and the bubble-wrap generous.

I will post pics ASAP, but not tonight as the router threw a wobbly and it took ages to work out to press the reset button.
johnreid

Two years ago I bought a SR1A and the Seller waited 30 days to post it and then sent it POSTAGE DUE
Dr. Rog

Pics at last, sorry some are out of focus, the camera is incredibly cheap.

Not very Meccano certainly, but very old fashioned.

Some pillock has decided to mount the shaft above the table. The shaft is almost rusted through but the blade and pully are fine, not a challenging repair. The blade is so sharp I am not sure if it is original, it could just be good steel.

Nice crank mechanism gives a long stroke, unfortunately the crank disk slips on its shaft. I shall have to pin or glue it. There is plenty of metal to work with though.

The lovely little vice has a nail for a bar. Again easily improved if required. The rough sand casting of the base can be seen. the base is very heavy but early Mamod green. that should confuse a few people.
All round this toy is built like a real engineering machine, dried out grease cleaned off and the disk fixed on it should run for thousands of hours without wearing out.

johnreid

Those both are beauties
Atticman

Both really nice- those later German accessories are quality pieces by the looks
Les

Two very fine pieces and a drop of Loctite should sort out the slipping crank.
BK

Delivery times depend on when the seller posts them!!! I've bought stuff and paid straight up, the seller says it's posted, but the post mark makes a lier out of him, up to 2 weeks to post, so don't always blame the service.
