M135 - partial restorationhi everyone,
these are some pictures of my M135, first when it came from ebay and then after an initial cleaning stage.
I decided not to aint the base, i kind of like its old look. I have reomved most of the rust however. I just cleaned and polished the brass parts - i did not go all the way in the cases where corrosion was way too deep. I striped down the whole engine, cleaned it and then oiled it. I think I will leave the base the way it is, but will probably paint the firebox and the piston connecting rod. I also need to resolder the steam pipe to the cylinder block, since it is leaking, and also replace the spring for the boiler´s safety valve. The top of the chimney is also missing.
After I finish it I will post some more pictures, although I do not think there will be much of a difference. The good thing is that Ialready took the measurements from the gear and shaft, since I need new ones made for my M158.
cheers,
this is how i got it from ebay
after partial cleaning and restoration

Looks classic, I like it. Shows its bling and its age.

They work by drip feed, that one is missing the tap.

Nicely done.
The drip oil taps are easy to make.
If you haven't got one to copy do a search on the forum as there are a few posts showing how people have made them.

Fantastic restoration, well done.
I made a couple of taps for my M122 which I think are the same size for a 135. Below is the link to the thread. The thread contains a post from Roly with the exact dimensions for a tap.
