They usually come in lengths of about a foot. I get it from here http://www.carlton-hydraulics.co.uk/ Local to me and fairly cheap, think I got it at about a pound a metre tom boiler pipe Plenty copper pipe on ebay small diameter for steam restorations also try B&Q they have small diameter brass pipe thats in the bos of threaded steel and small angled  steel sections  also B&Q do nickle silver rods at 68p look by the blowlamps section.
