Mamod recovery trailerI have been thinking of a good display piece for my mamods and i was considering constructing a trailer big enough to take another engine.
Has anyone got any thoughts as to how feasible this may be?

It is feasible, you could make it out of Mecanno.

I think that I have seen this done with Mecanno, maybe on eBay as I was looking for Mecanno a while ago. I think that browsing the net or eBay may turn up some other examples.

Why leave the forum

There was a beutiful low-loader on ebay a year ago or so, I think it was by CJW steam, just right for TE1s. A cracking model but I have never seen another.
Making the meccano model is fun in itself but is also a great way to prototype metal models.

I made this some time ago using MDF, the bed is big enough for a TE1A or SR1A to sit on.
Being made from MDF it is on the heavy side so I think a Mamod may have difficulty pulling it, I will have to try it. I only use it for static displays anyway.

Kevin Klein's video showed his traction engines pulling a low-loader, which he made with his usual eye for detail.

Needs to be a 'Low Loader' I think. Perhaps with a loading ramp at the back?
